Responsibilities

Build and improve software and financial infrastructure that serves millions of businesses.
Learn unfamiliar systems through independent research and mentorship.
Collaborate on multi-person coding projects and contribute to larger projects alongside peers.
Lead small projects independently and navigate complex technical obstacles.
Use AI tools to accelerate development while reviewing, refining, and validating their outputs.
Communicate technical work clearly to stakeholders, teammates, and other Stripe employees.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a directly related field by summer 2027, or equivalent work experience.
No more than 18 months of professional experience, excluding internship experience.
Programming experience through side projects or classwork.
Familiarity with Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, or Go, with strong programming fundamentals.
Experience from internships or collaborative multi-person coding projects in a university or professional setting.
Ability to learn unfamiliar systems and work with mentors or subject-matter experts.
Clear written communication and ability to explain work to stakeholders and teammates.
Ability to use AI tools with rigorous critical thinking and professional judgment.
Preferred: specialized knowledge in frontend, backend, infrastructure, or another technical area.
Preferred: code review experience, production-system update knowledge, large-codebase familiarity, and independent project leadership experience.
