Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of cloud-native, high-performance data pipelines and microservices.
  • Build, support, monitor, and optimize solutions using Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, JPA, JavaScript, MongoDB, Apache Flink, Apache Beam, and GCP services.
  • Own live production applications and modernize legacy stacks with minimal service disruption.
  • Define transformation roadmaps and lead migration, re-platforming, and refactoring of legacy applications to cloud-native architectures.
  • Ensure service resilience, data quality, integrity, and end-to-end security.
  • Coach and mentor engineers across levels and promote current data engineering practices.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and senior business stakeholders to deliver new features and enhancements.
  • Report risks and issues proactively and develop practical mitigation plans.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of development engineering experience with strong ETL and data pipeline delivery experience.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field.
  • Strong leadership and hands-on capability in Java and SQL.
  • Front-end exposure to React and TypeScript.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for complex data and application issues.
  • Clear communication and effective collaboration with teams and senior business stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of Helm for Kubernetes deployments.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Stackdriver.
  • Good understanding of cloud and Kubernetes security best practices.
  • DevOps skills are advantageous.
  • Relevant industry certifications are a plus.
