Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement sophisticated media playback features across iOS and related Apple platforms.
  • Collaborate with framework, platform, and product teams to diagnose complex issues at the intersection of media pipelines, rendering, and system performance.
  • Build and ship production applications using real-time media playback, streaming pipelines, or AV capture.
  • Diagnose media synchronization, codec behavior, and buffering anomalies.
  • Write maintainable, well-tested Swift code at scale.
  • Integrate GPU-accelerated video post-processing or custom rendering passes when applicable.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional iOS development experience focused on AVFoundation, CoreMedia, and AVKit.
  • Deep expertise in Swift, including protocol-oriented design, async/await, structured concurrency, and performance-sensitive programming.
  • Proven experience building and shipping production applications dependent on real-time media playback, streaming pipelines, or AV capture.
  • Experience diagnosing complex, multi-layered media bugs involving synchronization, codec behavior, or buffering.
  • Strong performance-profiling background using Instruments, including Time Profiler, Allocations, and Core Animation tooling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Track record of writing maintainable, well-tested Swift code in a professional engineering environment.
  • Preferred qualifications include SwiftUI, macOS and tvOS media-platform knowledge, Objective-C, HLS internals, Metal, and Core Image.
