Responsibilities

Prototype new model architectures for Pinterest Canvas, an internal text-to-image generative model.
Develop and implement diffusion text-to-image models and large-scale generative models for production visualization features.
Read research papers, participate in discussions, and contribute to Pinterest’s visual generative strategy.
Collect relevant visual training data, including data for RLHF and targeted fine-tuning.
Publish and publicize research through conferences, paper submissions, and blog posts.
Mentor junior researchers and research interns within Pinterest Labs.

Requirements

5+ years of industry computer vision experience.
M.S. or PhD in machine learning, computer science, or a related field.
Experience as a research engineer or scientist working with generative computer vision models.
Hands-on experience with diffusion models and independent model implementation skills.
Publications at top machine learning conferences are preferred.
Experience using Cursor, Copilot, Codex, or similar AI coding assistants is preferred.
Familiarity with LLM-powered productivity tools for documentation search, experiment analysis, SQL/data exploration, and engineering workflow acceleration is preferred.

Salary: $161k - $332k/yr
