  • Anduril Industries
  • Full time
  • Email
  • Boston, MA

Responsibilities

  • Investigate field-reported anomalies across autonomous underwater and surface vehicle subsystems.
  • Reproduce failures using recorded sensor or mission data, live pipelines, and visualization tooling.
  • Use metrics, dashboards, and centralized logs to reconstruct system state and identify root causes.
  • Develop, test, and ship fixes in Rust, C++, Python, Go, or the relevant subsystem language.
  • Validate fixes in simulation and hardware-in-the-loop environments before vehicle deployment.
  • Distinguish and resolve software bugs, configuration problems, and deployment mismatches at the correct system layer.
  • Document root causes and fixes, identify recurring subsystem issues and test gaps, and help build on-call and triage runbooks.
  • Coordinate with owning teams when the appropriate fix requires subsystem or roadmap changes.

Requirements

  • Experience debugging code written by others under time pressure and with incomplete information.
  • Working familiarity with at least two of Rust, modern C++, Python, and Go.
  • Systems-debugging experience using logs, metrics, and offline reproduction from recorded data.
  • Experience with observability tooling comparable to Prometheus/Grafana metrics and Loki/ELK logs.
  • Linux and systems fluency, with declarative or immutable operating system experience such as NixOS as a bonus.
  • Ability to document technical root causes and fixes clearly.
  • Willingness to work close to hardware and sensors; maritime or robotics experience is not required.
  • Willingness to travel 25% or more on average.
  • Robotics middleware, sensor driver, real-time data pipeline, simulation-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, embedded or fleet deployment, CI/CD, on-call, or field-support experience is preferred.

Benefits

  • Full-time employees receive comprehensive health and other competitive benefits available at little to no cost.
  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers as part of total compensation.
  • The role requires average travel of 25% or more.
