Sr. Security Software Enginer (Starshield) in USA

Responsibilities

  • Design and build cryptographic services and other security-critical infrastructure for Starshield.
  • Develop security features for Starshield routers, dishes, gateways, and satellites.
  • Design security into factory processes and provide supporting network services.
  • Maintain production systems and improve their security posture through implementation and recommendations to other teams.
  • Build prototypes and identify, design, and test security improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and work independently or as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another STEM discipline plus 5+ years of professional security software development experience, or 7+ years of such experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with at least one software development language, such as Python, C++, or Golang.
  • Experience designing and implementing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or large-scale infrastructure.
  • Preferred experience contributing security improvements to complex systems.
  • Preferred experience with trusted platform modules (TPMs) and hardware security modules (HSMs).
  • Fundamental understanding of network protocols, including the TCP/IP stack and UDP-based protocols.
  • Advanced degree in a technical or engineering discipline is preferred.
  • An active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI, or DOE Level Q clearance is preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements.

Benefits

  • Base salary range is $170,000.00-$265,000.00, with potential stock or long-term cash awards and discretionary bonuses.
  • Benefits include medical, vision, and dental coverage, a 401(k) plan, disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, discounts, and other perks.
  • Employees may accrue three weeks of paid vacation, receive 10 or more paid holidays annually, and accrue paid sick leave under company policy.

Salary: $170k - $265k/yr
