Responsibilities

Maintain and modernize Magnus Java applications, REST APIs, and Goliath’s JavaScript/jQuery frontend.
Develop and support backend capabilities using Java and Go.
Build production AI features and integrations using LLMs, tool calling, guardrails, evaluation, and MCP.
Integrate with BigQuery, MySQL, GCP services, and internal APIs.
Diagnose and resolve application, workflow, database, performance, and production issues.
Build automated tests and deliver reliable, production-quality software.
Own projects from technical proposal and implementation through deployment and production support.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering practices across the team.

Requirements

Experience building and supporting full-stack production software across backend services, data platforms, and browser-based applications.
Experience with Java and familiarity with Go backend development.
Experience building AI features or integrations involving LLMs, tool calling, guardrails, evaluation, or MCP.
Experience integrating with BigQuery, MySQL, GCP services, and APIs.
Experience diagnosing application, workflow, database, performance, and production issues.
Familiarity with MCP server/client development and AI agent or tool-calling architectures is preferred.
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, GKE, MySQL performance optimization, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and Python is preferred.
Familiarity with Java 8, Tomcat, JSP, CodeMirror, Chart.js, and modernization of mature applications is preferred.
