Responsibilities

Own the test strategy and automation architecture with data quality as the primary focus.
Build and maintain Python-based test frameworks, BDD feature suites, and reusable SQL and pandas/PySpark assertion libraries.
Design and execute ETL/ELT validation, source-to-target reconciliation, functional, end-to-end, UI, API, BDD, and performance testing.
Design and govern JMeter test plans for application and data layers, including pipeline throughput, load-window adherence, and large-volume query response.
Design data validation pipelines and complex SQL queries in PostgreSQL and Snowflake.
Surface and mitigate quality risks, identify test coverage gaps, and communicate quality status and risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Produce test strategy documents, defect trend analyses, and quality reports.
Incorporate client needs and biopharma regulatory requirements into test coverage and participate in incident responses and quality reviews.
Diagnose complex test failures, anticipate system failure modes, and drive quality decisions and remediation.
Mentor junior QA engineers, share knowledge, champion quality practices, and raise team-level quality standards.
Collaborate with backend developers, UI/UX developers, product analysts, and domain stakeholders in a distributed team.
Evaluate and integrate AI-powered testing tools into the QA workflow.

Requirements

5+ years of senior-level professional QA engineering experience with a strong automation focus.
3+ years of test automation experience across UI and API testing.
Expert Python testing skills, including pytest, test framework design, fixtures, and reporting.
Strong hands-on production experience with Playwright and experience with Selenium WebDriver, Postman, and Python requests.
Deep BDD expertise, including framework design, Gherkin authoring, step library architecture, and living documentation.
Strong SQL expertise, including complex joins, aggregations, window functions, data validation, and reconciliation.
Hands-on experience with Snowflake and databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Amazon RDS.
Experience designing, executing, and analyzing JMeter performance tests; distributed execution experience is beneficial.
Experience working in AI-augmented or agentic development/testing environments such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or AWS Bedrock.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with sprint planning and iterative delivery.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ownership of team-level quality outcomes and ability to influence technical decisions through proposals, expertise, example, and mentorship.
