Sr/Staff Site Reliability Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and scale infrastructure supporting all company systems.
  • Automate manual processes and eliminate operational toil using infrastructure tooling and AI agents.
  • Create internal agentic tools and harnesses.
  • Write Terraform modules and deploy infrastructure through GitLab pipelines.
  • Develop Helm charts for services and jobs running in Kubernetes.
  • Define metrics, network policies, and routing rules for the Istio service mesh.
  • Monitor and maintain BigQuery, Spanner, and CloudSQL databases.
  • Pipe metrics to Google-managed Prometheus and build Grafana dashboards and alerts.
  • Experiment with cloud offerings, vendors, AI tooling, and open-source projects to automate and secure operations.
  • Partner with engineering leads to instrument and monitor critical functionality.
  • Participate in architecture design and capacity planning.
  • Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience building and maintaining large-scale cloud-native infrastructure using AWS and/or GCP.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct AI coding agents such as Claude Code or Cursor to build, operate, and debug infrastructure, with strong judgment in verifying their work.
  • A track record of replacing manual operations with durable automation.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Istio or a similar service mesh technology.
  • Experience with SQL database technologies such as MySQL, Google BigQuery, and Google Spanner.
  • Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka and Amazon Kinesis.
  • Experience with pub/sub technologies such as AWS SNS and Google Pub/Sub.
  • Experience with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda and Google Cloud Functions or Google Cloud Run.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
  • Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Strong computer science and software engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience with SOC2 and PCI Compliance processes and requirements.
  • Willingness to learn, teach, collaborate, provide feedback, and work hands-on with new technologies.
