Staff AI Engineer in USA

Responsibilities

  • Research and apply modern AI methods, including AI agents, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, supervised learning, and unsupervised learning, to build product capabilities.
  • Translate business problems into AI solutions that improve workflows, accelerate insights, and drive measurable business value.
  • Own the architecture and integration of agentic chat capabilities throughout the Vendelux platform.
  • Design systems that enable AI agents to reason, take action, and surface insights across the product.
  • Establish patterns for agents to interact with internal data, external tools, and user workflows.
  • Architect multi-tenant AI infrastructure for the performance, latency, and cost needs of a growing B2B SaaS product.
  • Own observability, evaluation frameworks, and guardrails for production-grade AI features.
  • Collaborate with product, data science, and application engineering teams to translate requirements into AI systems.
  • Advise leadership on the AI roadmap and AI-driven product differentiation.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional software engineering or data engineering experience, including at least 3 years building AI/ML-driven products.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience with modern AI frameworks such as HuggingFace and LangChain.
  • Experience designing data pipelines using Airflow, Dagster, or equivalent tools.
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Production experience applying LLMs and generative AI, including prompt engineering, RAG, and LLM deployment.
  • Strong understanding of data science and machine learning techniques and the ability to balance research and engineering tradeoffs.
  • Track record of shipping user-facing features with measurable impact.
  • Ability to translate business problems into data solutions that drive business value.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across data, engineering, and product teams.
  • Candidates from non-traditional backgrounds are welcome, and not all listed requirements are mandatory.
