Staff Data Platform Software Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Write highly scalable software using concurrency and memory-utilization best practices.
  • Develop data management strategies focused on scalability, efficiency, security, and lifecycle stewardship.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on data-related initiatives.
  • Investigate data problems including data loss detection and recovery.
  • Monitor and optimize data performance and implement improvements.
  • Work with distributed storage systems and Kubernetes-based deployments.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools with appropriate guardrails and sound engineering judgment.
  • Promote data best practices, security standards, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of software development experience with a bachelor's degree, 5 years with a master's degree, 3 years with a PhD, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in Java, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Proficiency with concurrency and parallel programming concepts.
  • Working knowledge of databases, data modeling, data storage technologies, cloud-based systems, and distributed systems.
  • Strong relational database experience handling large amounts of data.
  • Working knowledge of distributed storage systems such as S3 and Apache Iceberg.
  • Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and hands-on Kubernetes service deployment experience is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the ServiceNow platform is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript is beneficial.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools and related guardrails or processes is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
