Responsibilities

Design and implement high-performance, scalable, and reliable hypervisor and systems software.
Improve virtual machine live migration speed and predictability and develop reboot-free or more reliable hypervisor upgrade approaches.
Participate in design discussions and support solutions with research, metrics, and detailed technical reasoning.
Write and maintain enterprise-quality code and contribute improvements to open-source community projects.
Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with geographically distributed engineering teams.
Assist with occasional customer escalations and rare outage investigations.

Requirements

At least 8 years of hands-on experience building and delivering enterprise-grade software.
Strong operating-system and systems fundamentals, including low-level coding and debugging experience with at least one hardware architecture, preferably x86.
Ability to write and maintain enterprise-quality code and break down abstract concepts into actionable solutions.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
Knowledge of x86 virtualization and the KVM stack is preferred.
Contributions to the Linux kernel or virtualization stack are preferred.
Excellent communication and writing skills and the ability to mentor junior engineers.
