Staff Marketing Technology Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the BigQuery marketing data warehouse and dbt-based transformations.
  • Design and maintain batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines integrating diverse data sources and APIs.
  • Build and deploy applications and AI agents on Google Cloud, including backends and lightweight frontends.
  • Develop self-serve AI-powered automation for Marketing, Product, and other teams.
  • Maintain engineering quality through Git workflows, code review, semantic versioning, automated testing, CI/CD, and production-readiness standards.
  • Own data security and governance, including IAM, secret management, PII handling, BigQuery row- and column-level security, and AI safety guardrails.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional marketing, finance, sales, operations, analytics, and BI stakeholders to resolve data issues.
  • Provide technical leadership, architectural direction, risk mitigation, research, proofs of concept, and reusable frameworks across the marketing technology stack.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of data engineering experience with breadth in software and/or AI application development.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including Git-based workflows, code review, automated testing, and CI/CD.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud application deployment, containerization, and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience building and deploying AI/LLM applications and agents, designing APIs, and evaluating AI system reliability.
  • Expertise in SQL, Python, ETL/ELT pipeline design, batch and streaming processing, API integration, BigQuery, dbt, and data-warehouse modeling.
  • Working knowledge of IAM, least-privilege access, secret management, and sensitive or PII data handling.
  • Experience with cloud environments; GCP is preferred, while AWS and Azure are assets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fivetran, marketing software categories, and Power BI or Tableau familiarity are preferred.
