Staff QA Software Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Design, write, and execute detailed test cases and test plans for network discovery, topology mapping, policy/rule analysis, posture scoring, alerting, and reporting features.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and API testing across releases and sprints.
  • Validate Layer 2/Layer 3 network modeling, including VLANs, routing, ACLs, NAT, and firewall rules.
  • Build and maintain automated UI- and API-level test suites using Selenium, REST Assured, and Pytest.
  • Set up and maintain virtual network test environments and multi-vendor device configurations.
  • Log, triage, reproduce, root-cause, and verify software defects with engineering teams.
  • Participate in sprint planning, story grooming, and release readiness reviews from a quality and risk perspective.
  • Improve test strategy, shift-left testing, and CI/CD test integration.
  • Maintain test cases, coverage matrices, defect reports, and other test documentation.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software QA/testing, ideally with SaaS or enterprise infrastructure products.
  • Working knowledge of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, including VLANs, subnetting, routing protocols, ACLs, NAT, and firewall logic.
  • Foundational security knowledge covering firewall policies, segmentation, and common vulnerabilities or misconfigurations.
  • Experience with manual and automated testing, including tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Postman, and Newman.
  • Experience testing REST APIs and validating JSON or other data payloads.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to write clear, reproducible bug reports.
  • Preferred: Python or Bash scripting experience for test automation.
  • Preferred: experience with GNS3, EVE-NG, AWS VPC, or Azure VNet.
  • Preferred: exposure to CI/CD pipelines and test integration.
  • Preferred: ISTQB, CCNA, or Security+ certification.
