Staff Software Development Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of large-scale control-plane and platform services.
  • Drive cross-team technical initiatives, align stakeholders, and ensure high-quality delivery against engineering and business priorities.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks, reliability risks, and architectural gaps across distributed systems.
  • Improve system performance, observability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Set technical standards through design reviews, code reviews, engineering practices, and mentorship of senior engineers.
  • Evaluate and apply Agentic AI and AI-assisted engineering workflows to improve developer productivity and product delivery.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of software engineering experience, including significant experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems and backend platform services.
  • Deep expertise in system design, microservices architecture, API design, data modeling, and highly available fault-tolerant production services.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more of Java, Go, or Python.
  • Experience leading complex technical initiatives across multiple teams and influencing architectural and engineering direction.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies, observability, reliability engineering, and secure software development practices.
  • Curiosity about AI tools and a demonstrated history of integrating new technologies into engineering workflows.
  • Preferred: experience with AI-assisted engineering, developer copilots, intelligent automation, AI-assisted incident analysis, or ML/LLM-powered platform capabilities.
  • Preferred: experience building control-plane, policy, identity, security, or other mission-critical platform systems in SaaS or cybersecurity environments, including Kubernetes, PAM, or IGA.
  • Preferred: experience mentoring senior engineers and serving as a recognized technical leader across an organization.
