Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and own experiences for savers managing 401(k)s, IRAs, contributions, portfolios, and withdrawals.
Own backend services and APIs, frontend interfaces, and systems end-to-end.
Contribute to system architecture and long-term foundational investments.
Use AI tools in the engineering workflow and identify opportunities to simplify retirement decisions and provide proactive guidance.
Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Design, Compliance, Operations, and other cross-functional teams.
Debug production issues and improve reliability, observability, and operational tooling.
Write clear, reliable, well-tested code that ships quickly and scales well.

Requirements

8+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping production products or platforms.
Strong experience with services and APIs, message-based systems such as Sidekiq and Kafka, and large modern frontend applications such as React.
Ruby on Rails experience is required.
Experience with GraphQL and end-to-end ownership including production support and operational work.
Strong cross-team collaboration, influence, communication, and project execution skills.

Employees based near Denver, San Francisco, New York City, or applicable Symmetry locations are expected to work from the office approximately 2–3 days per week or more depending on the role.

Salary: $163k - $247k/yr
