Responsibilities

Build and ship automated solutions that improve developer delivery speed without compromising quality, stability, or security.
Analyze, profile, and tune local development workflows and development environments, including codebase modifications.
Build tools to track operational metrics and improve environment performance.
Leverage AI technologies and automate environment configuration to accelerate developer productivity.
Define guidelines for code organization, build systems, and maintainable software architecture.
Partner with developers, architects, and Release Engineering to streamline CI/CD pipelines, optimize local builds, and resolve complex environment issues.
Identify workflow bottlenecks and integrate modern tools and processes into Okta’s engineering ecosystem.

Requirements

6+ years of professional software development experience in fast-paced environments.
3+ years of hands-on experience developing, debugging, profiling, and performance tuning with Java, Spring, and Tomcat.
Deep expertise configuring, profiling, and optimizing build tools such as Maven, Gradle, or Bazel.
Direct experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS and familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Strong familiarity with Git, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, and developer tooling.
Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional engineering teams, with the ability to establish standards and learn new technologies quickly.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
