Responsibilities

Lead technical execution, architecture, and long-term strategy for the Sign-In Widget platform.
Design and implement core platform features and foundational framework components that enable extensibility for other engineering teams.
Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and Principal Engineers to shape the roadmap and translate business requirements into technical strategy.
Resolve complex technical challenges involving performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and architectural limitations.
Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and responsiveness across devices and browsers.
Write clean, modular, well-tested, and maintainable code.
Identify technical debt and advocate for technologies and approaches that advance Okta’s identity platform.
Mentor senior engineers and influence technical direction across multiple teams.

Requirements

At least 8 years of software development experience, including at least 5 years designing and building complex enterprise-grade web applications.
Demonstrated technical leadership and experience architecting and delivering large-scale, high-impact software projects.
Expert-level knowledge of React and TypeScript, including state management, component architecture, and performance optimization.
Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Webpack or Vite, HTML5, and CSS3.
Familiarity with server-side languages such as Java or C#.
Familiarity with Jest, React Testing Library, or Playwright and a commitment to comprehensive testing.
Understanding of web security principles, secure coding practices, and accessibility standards.
Knowledge of IAM protocols such as OAuth, OIDC, and SAML is a strong plus.
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices is a strong plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
