Responsibilities

Set technical direction and define the roadmap for reliable, scalable infrastructure data products.
Design, build, and operate production ingestion and transformation pipelines, data models, and services for infrastructure usage, cost, ownership, and planning.
Improve shared data products through data contracts, automated quality checks, reconciliation, documentation, and operational monitoring.
Lead cross-functional initiatives from problem definition and technical trade-offs through rollout and adoption.
Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards through technical guidance and design reviews.
Use AI to accelerate data-quality investigations, implementation, documentation, partner self-service, and related workflows while validating results against source data and production evidence.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Significant experience designing, building, and operating production data systems or data-intensive services at scale.
Strong software engineering skills in Python and SQL, including tested and maintainable production code.
Deep experience with ingestion, large-scale ETL and transformation, data modeling, and workflow orchestration.
Experience designing data interfaces and contracts and improving data quality, freshness, completeness, and consistency.
Track record of leading complex technical work across teams from ambiguous problem definition through delivery and operation.
Ability to influence through technical judgment and clear communication and to mentor engineers.
Experience operating dependable data pipelines or services, including testing, monitoring, and incident response.
Experience with AWS or similar cloud environments.
Ability to use AI to improve workflow speed and quality and critically evaluate AI-assisted work through testing, source-checking, data validation, and peer review.
High integrity, ownership, protection of sensitive data, and accountability for final decisions and deliverables.
Preferred experience with infrastructure cost or usage data, budgeting, shared data platforms, dbt, data lineage, hierarchical ownership modeling, and large cloud-native multi-tenant platforms at Internet scale.

Benefits

Eligible for equity in addition to the stated base salary.
Remote arrangement with in-office collaboration required 1–2 times per month; the role can be based anywhere in the country.
The position is not eligible for relocation assistance.

Salary: $177k - $365k/yr
