Responsibilities

Own the full lifecycle of fintech products from requirements and technology selection through development, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and maintenance.
Design, develop, and maintain backend platforms, scalable data pipelines, and storage solutions.
Build stable, scalable, and high-performance systems for financial technology applications.
Improve code quality and mentor engineers across the team and wider organization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments to deliver product and technology goals.
Use metrics, alarms, dashboards, and operational excellence practices to maintain reliable systems.
Lead initiatives and help recruit and onboard exceptional talent.

Requirements

8+ years of experience developing high-performance production applications.
Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or Scala.
Experience with Hadoop, Apache Spark or similar big data and real-time processing technologies.
Advanced knowledge of SQL and data architecture.
Ability to reason about systems, edge cases, failure modes, and lifecycles.
Experience with Scrum or Agile development methodologies.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Experience with operational excellence, metrics, alarms, and dashboards.
Preferred experience in fintech or payments, including reconciliation, reporting, tax, payout methods, virtual credit cards, or customer payments.
Preferred experience with Spark, ETLs, Kafka, RabbitMQ, GitLab, Kubernetes, and large-scale distributed systems.
Preferred experience leading projects, initiatives, or teams with full ownership of systems.
