Staff Software Engineer - Data Ingestion in USA

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop scalable, performant solutions.
  • Work across disciplines to shape product strategy and execution.
  • Develop the foundations of code architecture and quality.
  • Mentor and coach engineers.
  • Set and uphold engineering process standards supporting high-quality engineering.
  • Design and optimize robust data pipelines and ingestion systems for large-scale real-time and batch processing.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and infrastructure performance optimization.

Requirements

  • A BS/BTech or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • 8+ years of production-level engineering experience building highly scalable systems is required.
  • 4+ years of experience as a trusted technical decision-maker solving for short-term and long-term business value is required.
  • 4+ years of experience working with SQL or other database querying languages on large multi-table datasets is required.
  • Experience architecting, developing, and deploying large-scale distributed systems is required.
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is required.
  • Experience building continuous integration and continuous development pipelines is required.
  • Strong familiarity with server-side web technologies including Java, Python, Scala, C#, C++, and Go is required.
  • Preferred experience includes building scalable and reliable infrastructure and designing, optimizing, and orchestrating data pipelines and ingestion systems for large-scale real-time and batch processing.
  • Preferred experience includes managing data warehouses and using analytics tools such as Snowflake, Redshift, Spark, SQL, Python, and Databricks.
  • Preferred experience includes Docker, Kubernetes, distributed architectures, database replication, sharding, partitioning, indexing, caching, data security, governance, compliance, infrastructure monitoring, performance optimization, and architecture reviews.
