Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and ownership for platform architecture, data ingestion, and normalization supporting a scalable search experience.
  • Lead the design and delivery of complex technical projects across the entire stack.
  • Define reliability KPIs, improve service health, reduce technical debt and manual toil, and optimize infrastructure costs.
  • Integrate AI, data pipelines, and telemetry systems to automate workflows.
  • Develop fault-tolerant, scalable, highly available, modular, and well-tested software.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to identify and deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Recruit, mentor, and inspire fellow engineers and provide technical leadership across teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of experience developing comprehensive, well-tested, high-performance software applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS.
  • 5+ years of experience with React and Node.js.
  • 3+ years of experience using AWS or other cloud technologies.
  • Track record of technical leadership and cross-team impact.
  • Strong understanding of software development and architecture best practices, including operational excellence and evolving AI technologies.
  • Strong familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, design judgment, attention to detail, and technical empathy.
  • Preferred experience with backend programming in Java, Golang, or Python.
  • Preferred experience with Kafka, event-driven systems, gRPC, Thrift, and other server-to-server communication protocols.
