Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, build, and maintain container infrastructure for Stripe service teams.
  • Lead technical discussions and decision-making with infrastructure and backend teams.
  • Mentor engineers and develop future technical leaders.
  • Participate in roadmap planning and prioritization.
  • Debug production issues across services and stack layers.
  • Improve infrastructure scaling, automation, reliability, and observability.
  • Identify shared compute needs and prioritize solutions across Stripe.

Requirements

  • A BS or MS in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
  • 15+ years of professional experience in software development or DevOps automation.
  • Several years of networking experience in development or system administration.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and a major cloud provider such as AWS, Azure, OCI, or Google.
  • Experience leading cross-team or company-wide projects.
  • Strong background in distributed infrastructure services.
  • Experience optimizing distributed-system reliability and security.
  • Experience scaling and migrating systems with little to no downtime.
  • Experience mentoring engineers at different career stages.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and debugging distributed systems.
  • Experience with operations culture, metrics, alarms, and dashboards.
