Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable cryptographic services meeting FIPS and regulated-environment requirements.
Architect and operate cryptographic services for key management, PKI, secrets infrastructure, certificate lifecycle, and workload identity.
Own Kubernetes services end to end, including deployment, scaling, on-call support, and incident response.
Apply threat modeling, secure coding, vulnerability management, and rigorous code review practices.
Evaluate AI and ML applications for anomaly detection, certificate lifecycle risk scoring, and cryptographic code review.
Collaborate with product owners, security architects, and platform teams to implement compliance and security requirements.
Mentor engineers on secure coding, cryptographic pitfalls, and design review rigor.
Track cryptographic advancements, including post-quantum cryptography, and prepare the platform for future requirements.

Requirements

8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating large-scale production applications and services.
Strong proficiency in Java, Go, Python, Node.js, or other strongly typed production programming languages.
Experience developing modern web applications and platforms with React, Angular, or Vue.
Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and distributed systems.
Experience designing APIs and service integrations using REST and GraphQL.
Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases in high-scale cloud-native environments.
Experience operating Kubernetes services, including deployments, Helm, CI/CD, observability, and multi-tenant SaaS environments.
Experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, and infrastructure automation.
Experience using AI-powered developer tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Codeium.
Experience integrating or building applications with OpenAI, Anthropic, or comparable foundation model APIs.
Working understanding of symmetric and asymmetric encryption, hashing, digital signatures, and TLS/PKI fundamentals.
Demonstrated security-first engineering practices, including threat modeling, vulnerability management, and rigorous code review.
Preferred experience in cryptography, PKI, key management, secrets management, certificate lifecycle systems, HSM/KMS integration, or crypto-agility.
Preferred hands-on AI/ML exposure and experience applying ML to security or operations problems.
Preferred experience with FIPS 140-2/3, FedRAMP, Common Criteria, post-quantum cryptography, and mentoring engineers.

Base pay of $166,500 - $291,400, plus equity when applicable and variable or incentive compensation.
