Staff/Principal Software Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Build and operate secure, resilient distributed systems for secrets and key management across Cloudflare’s global network.
  • Strengthen and re-architect internal PKI and machine/workload identity systems.
  • Support systems operationally and help internal developers use the services correctly.
  • Consult on the design and architecture of new systems and products to ensure secure integration with platform services.
  • Participate in on-call support outside standard working hours when technical issues require attention.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Expertise in software development and distributed systems design.
  • Strong security background focused on implementation rather than policy or compliance.
  • Preferred experience contributing to open-source security or distributed systems projects.
  • Preferred cryptography experience, including working with cryptosystems at the primitives level.
  • Preferred experience with HSMs, TPMs, or platform TEEs such as AMD SEV, Intel SGX, or Apple Secure Enclave.
  • Preferred familiarity with HashiCorp Vault, OpenBao, or similar tools.
  • Preferred Linux/UNIX system administration proficiency.
  • Preferred familiarity with Go, Python, and Salt.
