Responsibilities

Work on real business software engineering projects for Wabtec’s Remote Monitoring and Diagnostics group.
Apply frontend web technologies, Python, and unit testing tools in a production software development environment.
Contribute to digital technology solutions supporting locomotive, transit, mining, and marine propulsion systems.
Use problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills while developing technical capabilities.

Requirements

Complete at least three years of college and be a current senior.
Be enrolled in an accredited Computer Science engineering degree program.
Maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale after completing one full year of college.
Have experience with frontend web technologies such as ReactJS, GitLab, DevOps, Python, and unit testing tools.
Have a strong computer science or software engineering background and experience in a production software development environment.
Be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future work authorization or visa sponsorship.
Be able to work for at least 10 weeks, with a maximum duration of 12 weeks, and be willing to work at a Wabtec location.
Preferred qualifications include systems architecture and engineering, software architecture and design, industrial monitoring solutions, UX design, and user interaction design experience.

Benefits

10-week Spring 2027 co-op program with the possibility of future full-time employment.
Hourly pay ranging from $19 to $33 per hour based on academic year, graduation year, and major.
Benefits information includes health, welfare, and retirement offerings, with an annual bonus potentially available if eligible.
The position is based at Wabtec’s Schenectady, NY location and requires a minimum 10-week commitment.
