Proxima Fusion

Proxima Fusion designs and builds stellarator-based fusion power plants for utility-scale electricity generation, developing hardware, superconducting magnets, and control software to commercialize fusion energy. Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Munich, it is a privately held spin-out from the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) with teams in Munich, Zurich, and Oxford. The company advances the Wendelstein 7-X stellarator lineage through next-generation machines (Alpha and Stellaris) on the path to commercial deployment.
