Responsibilities

  • Design data access architecture for applications, APIs, AI agents, and MCPs on Databricks.
  • Define secure, reusable patterns for Data Services, APIs, SQL, functions, and MCP.
  • Implement authentication and authorization that preserve each consumer’s identity, context, and permissions.
  • Integrate access layers with Unity Catalog, policies, masking, and governance controls.
  • Design Data Products and Data Services with clear contracts and versioning.
  • Ensure traceability and auditability for users, services, agents, and queried resources.
  • Integrate Databricks with models, agents, APIs, and internal or external platforms.
  • Build reusable components to accelerate AI initiatives.
  • Define Data-to-AI standards with Architecture, Security, and Governance teams.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across Architecture, Security, Governance, Development, and AI teams.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in data platform architecture or engineering, integration, or distributed services.
  • Production experience with Databricks and Unity Catalog.
  • Experience designing and implementing APIs and services using OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, and service principals.
  • Practical generative AI knowledge covering agents, LLMs, tool or function calling, and MCP.
  • Ability to lead technically and define standards with high autonomy.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and governance teams.
  • Degree in Engineering, Systems, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Preferred: experience with AI services on Databricks, API Management platforms, data governance frameworks and tooling, or regulated financial environments.
  • Preferred: intermediate or higher technical English communication skills.
