Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain core Android frameworks and systems powering Ring and Blink apps.
  • Lead the architecture and design of Android features and platform components from conception through launch.
  • Conduct code reviews, mentor teammates, and promote code quality and engineering best practices.
  • Develop and maintain an accessible and consistent Android Design System used by other teams.
  • Build and operate AI pipelines and developer tooling that accelerate feature development.
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend teams on user-facing Android features, including data loading, caching, and behavior analysis.
  • Write documentation, prototype solutions, and discuss implementation approaches with design and product partners.

Requirements

  • Professional, non-internship experience in software development.
  • Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience developing Android mobile applications in Kotlin.
  • Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Preferred: experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles.
