Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain data processing applications using Apache Spark.
  • Build scalable ETL and data transformation pipelines for large datasets.
  • Develop and support distributed data applications using Java or Python.
  • Analyze requirements and collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices.
  • Contribute to application modernization, migration, and automation initiatives.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, testing, debugging, documentation, and delivery efficiency.

Requirements

  • Require 8–10 years of software development experience.
  • Require strong hands-on Apache Spark experience.
  • Require proficiency in Java or Python; candidates primarily using Python should understand Java fundamentals including object-oriented programming, collections, exception handling, and basic multithreading.
  • Require experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Require understanding of distributed computing and big data processing.
  • Require strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Prefer experience with Databricks, cloud platforms, modern data engineering practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
  • Prefer experience with Spark performance tuning, data lake architectures, and AI-assisted developer productivity tools.
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting or financial services is a plus.
  • Require the ability to critically review, validate, and correct AI-generated solutions for functional, performance, security, and maintainability issues.
