Responsibilities

  • Implement guidance and navigation software within COTS software frameworks.
  • Support airframe design activities.
  • Support software system integration on flight hardware.
  • Develop real-time embedded software and integrate hardware interfaces, vendor drivers, and firmware.
  • Collaborate with small teams and work with minimal supervision.
  • Work full-time onsite in Hawthorne, Los Angeles, California.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of professional object-oriented software development experience.
  • Experience designing and implementing guidance algorithms for UAS platforms using commercial autopilot frameworks such as ArduPilot.
  • Practical understanding of fixed-wing and rotary-wing flight dynamics.
  • Extensive experience developing software for STM32 or similar microcontrollers and Linux hosted on Nvidia Jetson, AMD/Xilinx SoC, or Microblaze architectures.
  • Experience developing real-time embedded software, integrating hardware interfaces, and integrating vendor-provided low-level drivers and firmware.
  • Experience with Agile lifecycle processes, including Scrum, Continuous Integration, and Test-Driven Development methodologies.
  • U.S. Person status is required to access U.S.-only data systems.
  • Preferred qualifications include a current or previous DoD security clearance, Part 107 remote pilot certification, EO/IR and radar sensor integration, VHDL and AMD/Xilinx FPGA development, Git, production-level software development and deployment, DevOps or DevSecOps, full-lifecycle development of high-TRL systems, and HW/SW integration, testing, and verification.

Salary: $160k - $240k/yr
