Responsibilities

Develop a reliable, scalable enterprise data platform for petabyte-scale data ingestion, processing, storage, and querying.
Create full-stack functionality and end-to-end data pipelines that improve SpaceX business operations.
Collaborate on architecture, design, and code reviews.
Build prototypes to validate design concepts and quantify technical constraints.
Own software engineering and product development across the full lifecycle.
Analyze business problems and develop efficient solutions using first-principles thinking.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, engineering, math, physics, or another scientific discipline, or 2+ years of professional software-building experience in lieu of a degree.
At least 1 year of experience in full-stack development, software engineering, data engineering, or data science.
Programming experience with Scala, Java, C#, Python, Go, or similar languages.
Frontend experience with Angular, React, or similar JavaScript frameworks.
Experience with in-stream big-data processing and analytics frameworks such as Apache Kafka, Spark, or Flink.
Experience with relational and non-relational databases or data lakes such as Hive, Delta Lake, PostgreSQL, or CockroachDB.
Experience with data exploration tools such as Grafana, Metabase, or Power BI.
Understanding of version control, testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and monitoring.
Understanding of statistics, machine-learning algorithms, and frameworks.
Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when needed.
Must satisfy applicable ITAR citizenship, residency, refugee, asylee, or authorization requirements.

Benefits

Base salary ranges from $125,000 to $165,000 per year for Software Engineer/Level I and from $145,000 to $200,000 per year for Software Engineer/Level II.
Potential eligibility for company stock, stock options, long-term cash awards, discretionary bonuses, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Three weeks of paid vacation, at least 10 paid holidays per year, and paid sick leave.

Salary: $125k - $200k/yr
