Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain cross-platform React Native applications for iOS and Android.
  • Build and maintain Ruby on Rails API endpoints, request/response contracts, background jobs, and data models supporting the mobile application.
  • Translate product designs and wireframes into reusable, high-quality code across the full stack.
  • Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party SDKs while optimizing application performance, responsiveness, and stability.
  • Write unit and integration tests and help establish React Native end-to-end testing coverage.
  • Debug platform-specific issues involving native modules and bridging.
  • Manage App Store and Google Play submissions and release processes.
  • Provide technical leadership on mobile architecture, coding standards, best practices, and code reviews.
  • Mentor and guide engineers in technical and career development.
  • Research and recommend tools and technologies that can improve team output.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience writing production code, including 3+ years building and shipping mobile applications.
  • Strong proficiency with React, React Native, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Production fluency with Ruby on Rails, including building and maintaining API-only Rails services.
  • Familiarity with state management approaches including React Query and Context API.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, mobile release workflows, REST APIs, and asynchronous data handling.
  • Understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and Apple HIG and Material Design platform guidelines.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with native iOS using Swift or Objective-C, or Android using Kotlin or Java, is a plus.
  • GraphQL experience is a plus.

Salary: $120k - $135k/yr
