Lead Software Engineer - Back End in Others

Responsibilities

  • Own the full product lifecycle from business requirements and technology selection through development, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend platforms, scalable data pipelines, and storage solutions across fintech.
  • Build stable, scalable, and highly performant systems for financial technology applications.
  • Develop and optimize systems for data collection, processing, analysis, reconciliation, payments, tax calculations, and supplier payment operations.
  • Mentor engineers and help establish high-quality coding practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments to achieve product and technology goals.
  • Lead projects, initiatives, and teams while owning the systems involved.
  • Recruit and onboard exceptional technical talent.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience developing high-performance production applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Scala, or C#.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop and Apache Spark.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and data architecture.
  • Experience with distributed systems, operational excellence, metrics, alarms, and dashboards.
  • Experience with Scrum or Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Preferred experience in modern fintech or payments organizations and domains such as financial reconciliation, financial reporting, tax, virtual credit cards, or customer payments.
  • Preferred hands-on experience with Spark, ETL data pipelines, Kafka, RabbitMQ, GitLab, and Kubernetes.
  • Preferred experience leading projects, initiatives, or teams with full ownership of the systems involved.
