Principal Software Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Set technical direction and own architecture for core components of the Agent 365 platform.
  • Lead investigations of difficult failures across high-throughput, multi-tenant services from initial signal through lasting resolution.
  • Design and deliver cell-based, fault-tolerant systems using Azure and AKS-related compute.
  • Establish standards for design, code quality, testing, reliability, and operational excellence.
  • Align partner teams across Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Azure on shared platform direction.
  • Mentor senior engineers and contribute hands-on through design reviews, incident retrospectives, and implementation.
  • Use AI to build agentic engineering loops.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
  • Preferred: master's degree with 8+ years of experience, or bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: experience designing and operating large-scale distributed services or cloud infrastructure in production.
  • Preferred: 10+ years building and running high-scale, multi-tenant cloud services.
  • Preferred: deep experience with Azure and container platforms such as AKS, Kubernetes, or Service Fabric, and reliability engineering at 99.99%+ availability.
  • Preferred: experience setting technical direction across teams and solving ambiguous, cross-service problems with structured, data-driven thinking.
  • Preferred: strong communication skills for explaining complex technical trade-offs to engineers and leaders.
