Senior Software Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate cloud-scale, multi-tenant infrastructure platforms focused on reliability, security, scalability, and operational excellence.
  • Lead Kubernetes-based infrastructure design, including cluster architecture, networking, storage, and workload isolation.
  • Build and evolve Infrastructure as Code solutions using ARM, Bicep, Terraform, Helm, or similar tools.
  • Design for failure domains, regional isolation, availability zones, dependency management, and reduced blast radius.
  • Drive resiliency and reliability improvements through design reviews, fault modeling, chaos testing, and post-incident learning.
  • Build automation and self-healing tooling to detect, diagnose, and resolve infrastructure and platform issues.
  • Develop guardrails, platform abstractions, regional deployment strategies, capacity plans, and safe rollout patterns with partner teams.
  • File impactful bugs, propose design changes, ship production fixes, and communicate technical recommendations across teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
  • Coding experience in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, or similar languages.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud background check and applicable customer or government security screening requirements.
  • Preferred: master’s degree with 6+ years of experience, or bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms and Infrastructure as Code tools such as ARM, Bicep, Terraform, or similar.
  • Understanding of distributed systems, failure domains, consistency, availability, fault tolerance, cloud networking, storage, identity, access control, and isolation boundaries.
  • Experience designing high-availability, regionally resilient, and disaster-recovery solutions in cloud environments.
  • Experience operating large-scale services with reliability engineering, incident response, and postmortem-driven improvement practices.

Benefits

  • The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $119,800-$234,700 per year, with a separate San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area range of USD $160,200-$261,000 per year.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
  • The position is open for at least 5 days and accepts applications on an ongoing basis until filled.

Salary: $120k - $261k/yr
