Principal Software Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end development of ChatGPT learning experiences from early exploration through production and iteration.
  • Drive product, design, prioritization, and technical tradeoff decisions with product managers and designers.
  • Set technical direction and guide architecture for complex initiatives focused on experimentation and long-term reliability.
  • Build multimodal learning capabilities spanning text, images, voice, and interactive interfaces.
  • Develop scalable services and APIs supporting learning features across ChatGPT.
  • Prototype and launch new AI capabilities in collaboration with researchers, platform teams, designers, and engineers.
  • Improve performance, reliability, and usability using experiments and user feedback.
  • Mentor engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and support.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience and a track record of shipping high-quality full-stack products.
  • Experience leading complex technical initiatives and making architecture decisions balancing product needs, development speed, and maintainability.
  • Experience driving product and design decisions with product managers and designers.
  • Experience owning consumer products from initial concept through production.
  • Strong product engineering judgment and ability to translate ambiguous problems into practical solutions.
  • Experience building interactive educational tools or learning products.
  • Experience developing AI-powered applications or systems built around large language models.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, design, research, and platform teams.
