Senior Android Engineer, Client Platform in USA

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural initiatives to improve the slowest parts of the Android app, including startup and critical learning flows.
  • Own and evolve performance tooling for tracing, benchmarking, and automated regression detection.
  • Manage performance metrics used in experiment analyses and identify regressions across concurrent experiments.
  • Partner with Client Platform and Product feature teams to interpret and act on performance data.
  • Promote engineering excellence around performance and mentor engineers across experience levels.

Requirements

  • Experience shipping large-scale Android applications.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving ANRs, memory leaks, dropped frames, and complex crashes.
  • Strong Kotlin skills and deep familiarity with coroutines, Jetpack Compose, and modern architecture patterns.
  • Experience optimizing startup time, memory, and network usage for low-memory devices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and enthusiasm for difficult technical challenges.
  • Preferred: expertise with AndroidX Tracing Library and Perfetto, plus experience with Sentry and Android Vitals.
