Senior Android Engineer, Client Platform in USA

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural initiatives addressing the slowest areas of the Android app, including startup and critical learning flows.
  • Own and evolve performance tooling for tracing, benchmarking, and automated regression detection.
  • Serve as a bridge between Client Platform and Product feature teams on performance data and remediation.
  • Mentor engineers and foster engineering excellence around application performance.
  • Investigate and resolve ANRs, memory leaks, dropped frames, and complex crashes.

Requirements

  • Experience shipping large-scale Android applications.
  • Strong Kotlin skills and deep familiarity with coroutines, Jetpack Compose, and modern architecture patterns.
  • Experience optimizing startup time, memory usage, and network usage for low-memory devices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to tackle difficult technical challenges.
  • Preferred: expertise with AndroidX Tracing Library and Perfetto, plus experience with Sentry and Android Vitals.
