Senior Android Software Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain the Android application.
  • Help build and improve the underlying mobile platform.
  • Solve product and engineering problems with a pragmatic approach.
  • Contribute to product design and technical direction.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, business, and partner teams.
  • Mentor or provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of mobile app development experience, including 2 or more years building and shipping production Android apps.
  • At least 3 years of experience building consumer-facing mobile applications and working in a startup environment.
  • Strong Kotlin skills and hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose and MVVM or Clean Architecture.
  • Proficiency with Protocol Buffers, gRPC, and integrating Firebase Authentication, Firestore or Realtime Database, and Cloud Messaging.
  • Experience with Android unit, instrumentation, and UI testing, as well as mobile CI/CD pipelines.
  • Mentorship or technical leadership experience guiding junior engineers.
  • Strong academic background and experience with Android platform architecture are valued.
  • Experience in data-intensive environments or distributed systems is useful.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $160,000 to $200,000 annually.
  • Visa sponsorship is available.
  • On-site in San Francisco, California; candidates must be based in San Francisco or Seattle.
