Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize high-performance distributed metadata services for OCI Object Storage.
Build fault-tolerant infrastructure using replication, redundancy, recovery, and automated failover.
Lead CI/CD, testing, deployment automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives.
Operate production services through monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response, root cause analysis, capacity planning, and on-call rotations.
Develop observability and performance improvements for reliability, scalability, and operational readiness.
Use AI-assisted tools for coding, debugging, testing, code reviews, incident analysis, and workflow automation.
Own features end-to-end, maintain technical documentation and runbooks, and participate in design and code reviews.
Mentor engineers, influence technical strategy, and raise engineering quality standards.

Requirements

At least 8 years of software development experience, or the listed degree-and-experience alternatives, including experience building and operating production systems or large-scale distributed services.
Proficiency in C++, Java, Go, or Rust, with strong data structures, algorithms, software design, and performance optimization foundations.
Deep expertise in distributed systems, including scalability, resiliency, concurrency, fault tolerance, service communication, and API design.
At least 2 years of professional cloud-platform experience, including platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle Cloud.
At least 3 years of system-level testing and automation experience.
At least 2 years of experience delivering and operating large-scale distributed systems.
Experience with containers, Kubernetes, deployment automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, observability, automated testing, and production operations.
Experience or knowledge in operating systems, web development, secure API development and integration, source control, vulnerability mitigation, prototyping, and algorithm engineering.
Preferred experience includes distributed storage systems, object storage, metadata services, distributed databases, global services, and multi-region cloud infrastructure.
Preferred experience includes developing AI-powered automation for software engineering, testing, debugging, or production operations.
Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, ownership, technical leadership, and mentoring skills.
