Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain capabilities for the Backbase Mobile Platform.
  • Develop scalable iOS features, SDKs, and libraries for Identity and Authentication journeys in mobile banking applications.
  • Write clean, maintainable Swift code using native Apple technologies and modern iOS frameworks.
  • Translate complex business requirements into technical designs and production-ready implementations.
  • Integrate RESTful APIs and GraphQL using asynchronous programming techniques.
  • Automate testing and collaborate with QA teams to achieve at least 80% unit test coverage.
  • Use CI/CD practices and tools such as Bitrise and GitHub Actions.
  • Uphold engineering standards and lead initiatives that improve engineering excellence within the squad.
  • Explore and apply AI tools and agentic frameworks for code generation, test automation, and developer productivity.
  • Contribute to requirements gathering, implementation, testing, documentation, and product adoption support.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience in native iOS development.
  • Strong proficiency in Swift and practical experience with Objective-C.
  • Experience developing applications in FinTech, banking, or payments.
  • Expertise with iOS architectural patterns such as MVVM, VIPER, and Clean Architecture.
  • Experience with SwiftUI, UIKit, Combine, or RxSwift.
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs and GraphQL and using asynchronous programming such as Grand Central Dispatch, async/await, or Combine.
  • Strong understanding of mobile security best practices, including Keychain and biometrics.
  • Experience with Git and version control systems.
  • Interest in or experience with AI/ML tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, and Xcode AI.
  • Preferred: in-depth mobile application security and data encryption knowledge.
  • Preferred: experience with Swift Package Manager or CocoaPods.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Firebase, Crashlytics, mobile analytics, A/B testing, and crash reporting.
  • Preferred: experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
  • Preferred: one or more published iOS applications on the Apple App Store.
