Senior Software Engineer, Operations in Canada new

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, test, and support full-stack Java applications, services, and APIs from implementation through production support.
  • Develop and support native iOS applications.
  • Troubleshoot production and test environment issues, investigate incidents, restore service, perform root-cause analysis, and remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers, Business Systems Analysts, and other partners to deliver quality solutions and maintain stable application environments.
  • Contribute to monitoring, change management, system upgrades, disaster recovery, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in an on-call and after-hours support rotation.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience developing and supporting enterprise back-end Java applications, including Core Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC.
  • At least 4 years of front-end development experience using React, JavaScript, and modern web technologies.
  • At least 2 years of experience developing and supporting native iOS applications in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong knowledge of web services and APIs, including REST, SOAP, JSON, and Java APIs.
  • Working knowledge of middleware and application servers such as WebSphere or WebLogic.
  • Experience troubleshooting production issues and working with SQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL databases.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Additional assets include Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, iOS architecture patterns, third-party frameworks, Jenkins, Artifactory, Bitbucket, Git, Gradle, Maven, CDD, Ansible, Kafka, proxy technologies, and web security or multi-factor authentication knowledge.
  • Must obtain Reliability Security Clearance and satisfactorily complete applicable law-enforcement, credit, travel-residency, and background checks.
