Responsibilities

  • Implement performance-critical imaging-pipeline stages in C++, including bundle adjustment, orthorectification, and image-format handling, and expose them to Python.
  • Reduce image data product pipeline latency through optimized implementations such as GPU-based orthorectification.
  • Identify high-value Python-to-C++/GPU migrations with the image data products team and drive them to completion.
  • Develop and benchmark high-performance reference algorithms.
  • Partner with HPC GPU specialists on workloads that benefit from GPU acceleration.
  • Own unit, integration, and performance regression testing in CI, along with verification and validation.
  • Produce technical designs, trade studies, and interface documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Math, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience developing performance-critical C++ software in production.
  • Expert-level C++ knowledge, including memory management, concurrency, and performance-oriented programming.
  • Hands-on experience with bundle adjustment, orthorectification, and common image and geospatial formats.
  • Experience building high-throughput, low-latency image-processing services and integrating C++ components into Python pipelines.
  • Strong Python skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance; an active clearance is preferred.
  • Preferred qualifications include CUDA image-processing kernels, photogrammetry or remote sensing, zero-copy buffers, RDMA, shared memory, containerized CI/CD with performance regression testing, and space, aerospace, or other mission-critical software experience.
