Software Engineer, Foundations in USA

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain shared backend frameworks, libraries, and internal tooling for engineering teams.
  • Design and implement reliable, observable, and performant distributed systems, including task queues, batch job frameworks, database ORM systems, and real-time event infrastructure.
  • Own and improve Front’s CI/CD systems and delivery pipelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify pain points, establish shared patterns, and drive framework adoption.
  • Influence backend architecture and engineering-wide technical standards.
  • Define ambiguous problems and deliver solutions of significant complexity.

Requirements

  • Backend JavaScript/TypeScript engineering experience; the role is not focused on frontend development.
  • Experience building frameworks, libraries, and/or developer-facing internal tools.
  • Experience building distributed systems with an emphasis on reliability, observability, and performance.
  • Strong software design fundamentals and a track record of delivering high-complexity projects.
  • Clear, structured technical communication and the ability to explain tradeoffs to engineering stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, drive clarity, and execute without a fully defined roadmap.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative, low-ego, high-growth environment.
  • Deep TypeScript performance optimization experience is a bonus.
  • Prior experience on platform or enablement teams at a product-led company is a bonus.

Salary: $178k - $205k/yr
