Responsibilities

Architect, design, and develop modern Mac UI features for customer-facing desktop applications.
Lead complex UI workflows using Swift, Objective-C, and C/C++.
Drive technical direction for Mac UI architecture, scalability, maintainability, and performance.
Own technical decisions across the UI layer, including frameworks, patterns, integrations, and code quality standards.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, platform teams, and QA to deliver intuitive user experiences.
Review code, conduct design reviews, mentor engineers, and provide technical guidance while remaining hands-on.
Troubleshoot production issues involving UI, system integration, memory, performance, and stability.
Advocate for usability, accessibility, responsiveness, and consistency across the Mac experience.
Improve engineering workflows, release quality, developer productivity, and adoption of effective AI-assisted development tools.

Requirements

10+ years of software engineering experience with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Extensive hands-on experience in Mac application engineering and shipping customer-facing native Mac desktop products.
Strong proficiency in Swift, Objective-C, and C/C++.
Deep understanding of macOS application architecture, UI frameworks, event-driven programming, and system-level behavior.
Experience designing scalable, maintainable, and performant software systems.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across UI, application, and platform layers.
Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction across teams without direct people management responsibility.
Experience in cross-functional product development and the ability to communicate technical tradeoffs clearly.
Preferred experience modernizing legacy Mac codebases, working with mixed-language applications, integrating platform services or shared libraries, and supporting automated testing and release engineering.
Preferred understanding of software quality, security, performance optimization, and observability, plus experience with UX/product collaboration and AI-assisted development tools.
