Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop backend microservices for travel policies, approval workflows, and compliance enforcement.
  • Build scalable APIs and data-processing services that support reporting and internal and external integrations.
  • Own backend problem domains end to end, from system architecture through feature delivery and launch.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams on complex cross-domain features.
  • Help define and execute the technical roadmap for the data platform.
  • Mentor engineers and promote best practices in system design, API development, monitoring, testing, documentation, and operational reliability.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of backend software development experience building large-scale distributed systems for SaaS or consumer-facing applications.
  • Deep backend development expertise with Java and Spring Boot, including JVM fundamentals, performance tuning, and concurrency.
  • Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, complex data modeling, and query optimization.
  • Experience designing scalable, resilient applications using microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures on cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
  • Strong technical ownership, collaboration, communication, and production delivery skills.
  • Ability to use AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, CodeGPT, Claude, and Cursor while maintaining code quality.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Preferred experience with AI/ML technologies, agentic AI, LLM-based features, autonomous workflows, Kafka, Kinesis, ETL, reporting systems, performance and scalability testing, and travel industry integrations.
