Responsibilities

  • Partner with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate mobile seller workflows and roadmap ideas into product features.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across iOS and Android, including technical designs, code and design reviews, cross-platform consistency, and solving complex engineering problems.
  • Estimate, sequence, and plan multi-quarter feature delivery across platforms, dependent teams, and milestones while surfacing risks and blockers.
  • Drive delivery from kickoff through App Store and Google Play release, making scope, trade-off, and prioritization decisions and communicating status and risk.
  • Own predictable release processes, including branching, release cuts, regression, go/no-go decisions, staged rollouts, and release-health metrics.
  • Set multi-year technical direction and lead modernization using Swift Concurrency, SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose, modular Gradle builds, and a consistent GraphQL client strategy.
  • Define the mobile delivery platform, including automated code signing, pull-request CI test gates, TestFlight and Google Play automation, staged rollouts, and crash-free-session monitoring.
  • Own mobile operational excellence through crash symbolication, logging standards, release dashboards, on-call practices, and incident reviews.
  • Raise standards for mobile security, privacy, accessibility, localization, performance, testing, and code quality.
  • Coordinate with Voice, Identity, Platform, and Client Architecture teams on calling, authentication, push notifications, feature flags, and GraphQL systems.
  • Mentor engineers, participate in technical reviews and interviewing, and contribute to engineering culture and company initiatives.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional software development experience and 8+ years building and shipping native mobile applications.
  • Deep expertise in at least one native platform, including iOS with Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, and Swift Concurrency or Android with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and Flow, plus production experience and hands-on shipping experience on the other platform.
  • Experience serving as technical lead for feature teams, translating ambiguous requirements into designs, estimates, plans, and delivered multi-quarter roadmaps across both platforms.
  • Experience coordinating execution across multiple teams, managing dependencies, surfacing blockers, reprioritizing, and reporting status and risk to engineering and product leadership.
  • Track record of modernizing large, long-lived mobile codebases through incremental architecture migrations, modularization, and test strategy without stopping feature work.
  • Strong knowledge of mobile release engineering, including branching and release-train models, code signing, CI/CD, App Store and Google Play review, staged rollouts, and crash monitoring.
  • Strong knowledge of mobile security and privacy, including OAuth/OIDC on-device authentication, Keychain, Android Keystore, and store privacy requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for design documents, plans, and trade-off write-ups.
  • Ability to establish technical and cultural standards for mobile engineering.
  • Experience with real-time voice technologies such as Twilio Voice, CallKit, PushKit, or Android ConnectionService is a plus.
  • Experience with enterprise mobility technologies such as Microsoft Intune App Protection and MSAL is a plus.
  • Experience with GraphQL clients at scale on mobile, such as Apollo iOS and Apollo Kotlin, is a plus.
