Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack in USA

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Shop frontend experiences using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
  • Build and extend backend REST endpoints and services, owning work from frontend UI through backend APIs.
  • Integrate with Shopping Graph and Developer Portal APIs for merchant data, offer eligibility, and personalization signals.
  • Participate in the GKE migration and adoption of shared UI patterns across the Shop codebase.
  • Contribute broadly useful components and patterns to ID.me’s shared UI Foundations when appropriate.
  • Partner with Design and Product to deliver discovery, personalization, loyalty, campaign, and marketing experiences.
  • Define testing, code-quality, and review patterns and mentor other engineers.
  • Ensure performance, accessibility, cross-browser reliability, and production support through incident and bug resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Typically 5+ years of frontend engineering experience.
  • Deep expertise in vanilla JavaScript, HTML, and the DOM.
  • Hands-on production experience with Web Components, including Custom Elements, templates, Shadow DOM, slots, and events.
  • Production experience with React and Next.js.
  • Experience with UI component libraries or design systems, design tokens, theming, and scalable CSS.
  • Experience collaborating with Design on system-level UI and strong knowledge of accessibility standards and browser behavior.
  • Working proficiency in a backend language for building and maintaining REST services.
  • Experience owning full-stack work from frontend UI through backend services and APIs.
  • Comfort using AI tooling for code generation, test coverage, and documentation.
  • Preferred experience includes commerce or marketplace stacks, shared internal design systems, micro-frontends, personalization or offer-ranking interfaces, affiliate integrations, e-commerce platforms, identity, benefits, or credential-based access concepts.

Salary: $222k - $258k/yr
