Staff/Senior Staff Software Engineer in USA

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-stack design and development of the Geofencer React/TypeScript application and Python backend services.
  • Own geospatial workflows including versioned geofence editing, road-network annotation, drivable-area computation, connectivity validation, and Plan of Record releases.
  • Integrate with the Zoox Road Network, S3 artifact pipelines, downstream fleet and mission systems, and ML-assisted annotation workflows.
  • Operate production infrastructure, including builds, containerized deployment, observability, and CI/CD.
  • Create scripts and tools for data migrations, bulk annotation operations, and metrics generation.
  • Drive alignment with operations, mapping, and autonomy stakeholders and translate operational needs into scalable solutions.
  • Mentor engineers and provide architectural and technical leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of industry experience building and operating production full-stack systems on large codebases.
  • Strong proficiency with Python backend services, React with TypeScript/JavaScript, relational databases, asynchronous task-queue architectures, and Python or shell scripting.
  • Experience with Linux, AWS or similar cloud infrastructure, containerized deployment, build systems, version control, testing methodologies, and CI/CD.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership driving multi-quarter projects, setting architectural direction, and mentoring engineers.

Salary: $285k - $350k/yr
